promotion
A discount: a coupon code or an automatic promotion, with its application method (percentage or fixed amount, applied to items, the order or shipping), usage limit and campaign. get adds the full application method, the order rules (rules) and the item rules (application_method.target_rules, application_method.buy_rules) with their ids. campaign_create
Create a promotion campaign with an optional schedule and budget.

- Action key:
campaign.create - Permission:

- Retries: runs at most once; a repeat with the same idempotency key returns the first result.

}promotion_create
Create a coupon code or automatic promotion.
application_method.type is percentage or fixed; target_type is items (cart lines), order or shipping_methods; allocation (each, across or once) applies to items only. fixed amounts need currency_code and are in the major unit. Buy-get promotions need buy_rules, buy_rules_min_quantity and apply_to_quantity. status defaults to draft, so nothing applies until it is set to active with promotion_update. Automatic promotions apply without a code and cannot have a usage limit. rules are the order-level conditions (e.g. customer group, region). Extra eligibility rules (minimum subtotal, schedule, customers) come from promotion_restrictions_set.
- Action key:
promotion.create - Permission:
promotions.write - Approval: Waits for approval when the store requires it for this action.
- Effect: Changes the live store.

}promotion_restrictions_set
Change the eligibility rules of a promotion; the parts passed replace the stored ones.
Each top-level part (items, requirement, max_subtotal, customers, checkout, schedule, combines_with) is replaced as a whole when passed and kept when omitted. Read promotion_restrictions_get first and copy the part you change from its effective document. Ids come from promotion_restriction_options_get. A refused document comes back with the issues to fix.

}promotion_update
Change a promotion, including turning it on or off with status.
Only the fields passed change. Setting status to active makes it apply to carts at once; inactive stops it. application_method here changes type, value, allocation and quantities, not the rules: application_method.type is percentage or fixed; target_type is items (cart lines), order or shipping_methods; allocation (each, across or once) applies to items only. fixed amounts need currency_code and are in the major unit. Buy-get promotions need buy_rules, buy_rules_min_quantity and apply_to_quantity. Rules are changed with promotion_rules_update.
