A translatable thing (a product, a page, a menu, a set of theme texts) with its fields in the original and in one language. List one type at a time. Get takes the id <type>/<item id>@<language>, e.g. products/019bb58e-0ec1-79c1-9f40-d39d8d07674b@de and returns every field with its source, target, state and the base fingerprints translation_item_save needs.

Pass the fields for the reference you chose: entry (title, excerpt, body, seo_title, seo_description, og_title, og_description; legal_terms.pdf_media_id for a legal version), category (name, description, seo_title, seo_description, og_title, og_description), attachment (title, description). Fields are saved as the merchant's own words. With auto_translate the original (or source_locale) is machine-translated first, which spends AI credits. Review live published content before changing it.

items_text is one feature per line, saved as the merchant's own words; an empty text removes that language. With auto_translate the original is machine-translated first, which spends AI credits. The product needs highlighted features saved first.

Moves the translation's fingerprint to the new original so the field stops showing as changed. Send each field with its base and source_base as read from translation_item_get.

Save the merchant's own translated text for fields of one item.

Read the item with translation_item_get first and send each field back with its reference, record_id, field, base and source_base exactly as read; a field changed since answers a conflict and nothing is saved. An empty text clears the field. The text is saved as the merchant's own words; for machine translation use translation_record_translate or translation_run_start.

A field left out stays, an empty one is cleared, an unchanged one is not written. Pass bases (the fingerprint read with the text) to refuse overwriting a newer text. The text is saved as the merchant's own words; for machine translation use translation_record_translate.

Machine-translate the texts still missing in a language: everything, one type or a feed.

Spends AI credits and writes live translations, never over a text the merchant wrote; one run at a time for the store. A dry run prices it without translating anything: how many texts, the credits it would cost, the balance and whether it is enough. Tell the merchant the price, then run with expected_credits set to the dry run's credits.

Turn automatic translation on or off, always with the merchant approving, and change the glossary.

glossary replaces the whole list, so read translation_settings_get first and send every term you keep. Each term is kept as written (rule keep) or rendered per language (rule translate with translations by language code).

Get AI translation suggestions for fields of an item, without saving anything.

Spends AI credits. The suggestions come back with a proof; pass nothing of it to translation_item_save, which saves text as the merchant's own words, so show the suggestion to the merchant first. avoid lists suggestions already rejected.
