# Product tables (/ai/reference/catalog/product-tables)

Toolset `product_tables`, 7 tools.

## Records [#records]

### `product_table` [#product_table]

A table shown on product pages, such as a size chart: columns and rows, where it shows (placements), and the products, categories, brand values and types it reaches.

- Tools: `product_table_state_get`

## Actions [#actions]

### `product_table_assign` [#product_table_assign]

Pick a table for a product, drop that pick, or exclude or include the table for it.

- Action key: `product_table.assign`
- Permission: `products.write`
- Approval: Waits for approval when the store requires it for this action.
- Effect: Changes the live store.
- Retries: safe to repeat with the same input.

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `product_id` | string | yes |  |

  "action": "assign"
}
```
### `product_table_create` [#product_table_create]
Add a table to show on product pages.
table is the whole table in the shape product_table_get answers: name, placements, label, intro, guide_text, guide_image, columns [{id, ...}], rows [{id, cells}], select_variant, unit_switch, is_active, translations and targets. Read an existing table first and copy its shape; the store refuses an invalid one with the field that is wrong.
- Action key: `product_table.create`
- Permission: `products.write`
- Approval: Waits for approval when the store requires it for this action.
- Effect: Changes the live store.
- Retries: runs at most once; a repeat with the same idempotency key returns the first result.
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `table` | map of string or number or boolean or list of any value or map of any value or null | yes |  |
Example input:
```json
{

    "name": "Size chart",
    "columns": [],
    "rows": []
  }
}
```
- Action key: `product_table.delete`
- Permission: `products.write`
- Approval: Always waits for a person to approve it.
- Effect: Changes the live store.
- Destructive: in compact mode it runs with `run_destructive_action`.
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `table_id` | string | yes | Product table ID from product_table_list |
Example input:
```json

}
```
### `product_table_update` [#product_table_update]
Save a product table.
table carries the table content in full (name, placements, label, intro, guide_text, guide_image, columns, rows, select_variant, unit_switch, is_active), translation_edits for single texts per language, and targets as {added, removed} of ids per kind (product_ids, category_ids, brand_value_ids, type_ids, excluded_product_ids): only what changes, so picks made elsewhere survive.
- Action key: `product_table.update`
- Permission: `products.write`
- Approval: Waits for approval when the store requires it for this action.
- Effect: Changes the live store.
- Retries: safe to repeat with the same input.
